Blog name...

So I’m standing here in my kitchen, listening to music, marinading prawns, and getting ready to make banana bread when the title of my blog finally hits me: “Notes From the PopMaster.” Now, that sounds a little arrogant, possibly in the vein of Lester Bangs or Robert Cristgau. But actually, it’s an affectionate tongue-in-cheek nod to my childhood best friend Vince and the nickname he rather sarcastically pinned me with in our adolescent years. “PopMaster” I was, because of my penchant for all things Top-40. I’ll happily concede at this point in time that I have little regard for contemporary Top-40, but I do try to keep an eye on what’s going on. Hell, I still love pop music. But my own definition of pop music is much more broadly defined these days, and rightly so. But that statement is fodder for an entirely different blog, so I’ll save it for later. The main point is, I found a name. And I like it. Thanks Vince.
